YES will not compromise on Safety
YES have been asked on several occasions to cut costs on some installations recently. Although the current financial climate forces tight margin quotations, we have even been asked to reduce the amount of safety devices that we install on our high quality gate and barrier systems.
Not only is this morally wrong on the part of the client but it is also illegal in the letter of Health and Safety law.
As our existing customers are aware, we would never install any equipment that could put the lives of employees, members of the public and in some cases even members of the clients’ own family at risk.
With the recent deaths and near misses that have been caused by automated systems documented (rightly) by the media, YES as a reputable gate automation company have a “duty of care” to all our customers even if sometimes the customer feels that a quotation is excessive in cost due to safety devices being fitted.
“Cas N’ Over”
YES would like to thank all the site management staff at Castleford High School who assisted in one way or another to ensure their new 5 metre cantilever sliding gate was installed before the return of the pupils in September.
The contract included the installation of 10 metres of Expamet fencing, 1 x access controlled pedestrian gate and the replacement of 4 x external door access systems with the Paxton NET2 classic system.
The access control system is P.C. based and can be used by staff to allow authorised entry into the building. The system will not only reduce incidents of truancy but will keep the school secure from any unwanted persons.
YES would like to wish “Good Luck” to all the rugby teams from Castleford High School playing at Wembley this August Bank Holiday weekend. Your dedication in giving up your summer holidays to come back to school for training was an inspiration to us all.
YES were recently requested to submit a quotation for a perimeter protection system to increase security for the West Yorkshire Police Air Support Unit. This system will incorporate a series of infra red beams that will create a “virtual” perimeter around the helicopter hangar and landing area.
Several 360 degree fully functional dome cameras are proposed be installed and integrated into the perimeter protection system to allow the cameras to move to a preset alarm position following any activations. This system has been used by YES many times and has proved to be one of the most highly effective security systems available anywhere in the world.
The system can send emails to authorised persons, provide a remote viewing facility from anywhere in the world as well as local warning devices and sounders.
YES are commencing works at Normanton Junior School during the school summer break. This project involves the installation of an intercom system and access controlled pedestrian gate. 3 x handsets will be mounted in the reception office to enable the staff to monitor persons coming in and out of the premises.
Security installations like this are proving very effective recently as schools need to monitor school security very carefully following new Offsted guidelines.
YES are more than happy to visit any school to offer our School Security Initiative Survey free of charge, with no obligation to the school to appoint YES to carry out any works suggested. Many Yorkshire schools have taken full advantages of this offer and have significantly increased school safety with sometimes very litle cost to the school budget.
Contact details are available on the YES website if you would like to book a security survey visit.
